A J Mayr Expands

A J Mayr's chairman Kumar Perumal has approved a significant expansion plan for the company which is expected to take its fabrication services to both new levels and the broader market place.
Mr Perumal's vision is to reproduce the success's of the Tomago business model into strategic geographical locations to maximise the opportunities for the company throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific Regions. The execution of this plan will see significant growth for the company establishing it as the major player providing fabrication and construction turnkey services throughout Australia.

Adelaide Facility
The expansion see's the company establishing its presence with a significant operation in the Adelaide region to cater for currently approved and pending infrastructure Projects thoughout Central Australia. With the appointment of Andy Davey (ex Leighton Contractors) in March this year, the intention is to have the facility establsihed and functional by the end of October 2009 offering employment opportunities within the Adelaide region.
The facility will be approx 2000sqm workshop + lay down yard area and will adopt the Quality and Operational Systems from the existing Tomago facility from which the A J Mayr brand is well known.

Surabaya Facility
The Surabaya facility currently provides Design Drafting, Material Takeoff and Fabrication Project Management services. With the appointment of Alex Crivoi in January this year, the strategy for A J Mayr Indonesia is to provide an Australian alternative to compete with other offshore fabricators whilst guaranteeing quality standards, systems and Australian content. The principle focus of the facility is to provide a quality, commercially attractive fabrication product to complement the company's construction arm in producing a turnkey supply and construct package for the Australian market.
