AJ Mayr Initiates Inaugural Employee Survey

Commonsense values such as integrity, honesty and respect among team members of AJ Mayr are among the cornerstones we are forging to structure our future.

In addition, excellence and innovation in management and fabrication, along with experienced leadership, are being further developed to take AJ Mayr to the highest possible level of professionalism in its field.

To achieve our goals, we recognize we need a team effort from the ground floor up. With that in mind, a major employee opinion survey is about to be rolled out as part of a major strategic plan for the future.

The survey gives all team members within the company the opportunity to speak frankly about what they believe works well within the company, and what they believe needs refinement.

Questions range from the frequency of replacement of uniforms to OH&S issues and how management could better communicate with all team members. People are also given the opportunity, anonymously if they wish, to give their perception of their supervisors and managers on issues such as how daily work schedules are communicated and the level of interest shown in a person’s general well being.

Executive Director Nilhan Perumal, who is driving the survey project, said the results of the feedback would go directly into the planning to further develop the company.

“We sincerely believe that if we can provide an enjoyable, rewarding workplace then our clients will become the direct beneficiaries of our employee satisfaction,” he said.

“It is fair to say that we consider our clients and team members to be of equal value. Without our clients we would not have work for our people. Without the best people, we would not be able to deliver appropriately to our clients.

“We have that balance now, but we want to improve on it and become not just the manufacturer of choice for clients internationally, but also the employer of choice for skilled workers in Australia.”
