A J Mayr was established in 1971 in the industrial capital of Newcastle, NSW. Offering engineering design, procurement, construction, fabrication and maintenance services, we have become the largest privately owned fabrication company in Australia. With more than 100 staff and large modern workshops in Newcastle and offices in Adelaide and Indonesia, our ethos is to be an integral part of our customers' successes by delivering projects of the highest quality - on time and on budget.

We service the oil and gas, mining, petrochemical, power, desalination and water treatment and structural steel fabrication industries. Our chief expertise is in the design, fabrication, modular construction and installation of process plant, modularised structures, super duplex pipe work spooling and high pressure piping systems, as well as pressure and cryogenic storage vessels and air separation plants.

Our reputation for quality, safety and reliability has made A J Mayr a major contractor for multi-national engineering companies. Accredited with ISO 9001 we have been involved in many major engineering projects across Australia. In 2001 A J Mayr was placed in the Business Review Weekly as one of the fastest 100 growing companies in Australia. In 2005 A J Mayr won the prestigious Fabricator of the Year award for our commitment to the high fabrication standards and quality on the Sydney Nuclear Reactor at Lucas Heights.

Making the impossible possible

In 2001 AJ Mayr was awarded the seemingly impossible task of relocating an air separation plant from Newcastle to Whyalla, in South Australia. We successfully achieved the impossible on time and $3 million dollars under budget. We take pride in our proven ability to do the seemingly impossible, and will continue to go the extra mile to satisfy our customers' requirements.

We are continually expanding our expertise and capabilities, whilst maintaining our reputation for quality, service and safety.
