Introducing A J Mayr Engineering
AJ Mayr was established in 1971 in the industrial capital of Newcastle, NSW. Offering engineering design, procurement, construction, fabrication and maintenance services, we have become the largest privately owned fabrication company in Australia. With more than 100 staff and large modern workshops, our ethos is to be an integral part of our customers’ successes by delivering projects of the highest quality … on time and on budget.
We service the oil and gas, petrochemical, nuclear, mining, aluminum processing and structural steel fabrication industries. Our chief expertise is in the design, fabrication and installation of pressure and cryogenic storage vessels and tanks, as well as high pressure piping systems and air separation plants. There are 10 air separation plants in Australia that have a capacity of more than 400 tonnes of oxygen per day, and A J Mayr has built every one.
Our reputation for quality, safety and reliability has made A J Mayr a major contractor for multi-national engineering companies. Accredited with ISO 9001m we have been involved in many major engineering projects across Australia. In 2001 A J Mayr was placed in the Business Review Weekly as one of the fastest 100 growing companies in Australia.
Making the impossible possible
In 2001 AJ Mayr was awarded the seemingly impossible task of relocating an air separation plant from Newcastle to Whyalla, in South Australia. We successfully achieved the impossible on time and $3 million dollars under budget. We take pride in our proven ability to do the seemingly impossible, and will continue to go the extra mile to satisfy our customers’ requirements.
We are continually expanding our expertise and capabilities, whilst maintaining our reputation for quality, service and safety. We are constantly exploring avenues to improve our systems and processes to provide economic benefits to customers and shareholders. Safety is of paramount importance to AJ Mayr and we take pride in our safety record over the past 30 years.
